The Belrose Eagles Junior Rugby League Club, plus a whole mix of local sports and recreation groups, will soon enjoy state-of-the-art lighting at Lionel Watts Reserve in Frenchs Forest.
With $40,000 from the NSW Rugby League and an extra $50,000 from Council, twelve brand new energy efficient LED floodlights will be installed on Field 1 - perfect for more night games, practices or just kicking a ball around with friends without additional impact on local residents including the wildlife.
This upgrade isn’t just about better lights, it’s about working in partnership with sporting groups to grow local clubs, get more people active and make Lionel Watts Reserve a great spot for all ages and interests.
As a bonus because these new lights use less power, they’re also helping meet sustainability goals and save on electricity costs for the user groups.
The lighting project kicks off in early 2026, so get ready to see Lionel Watts Reserve in a new light.
