Stage 1 Program - Water in our World
Program overview
Water is essential for life. How we use it is important as it is such a precious resource. At beautiful North Narrabeen Lagoon the students will get to explore where water comes from, how it moves around our environment, how it makes up aquatic habitats and why we need to look after it.
Syllabus inquiry questions
- How can we investigate observable changes that occur in the sky and on the land?
- What are earth’s resources and how do we use and care for them?
- What are the features of, and activities in, places?
- How can spaces within a place be used for different purposes?
Learning experiences
Coastal Environment Centre, Narrabeen Lagoon
Our experienced educators will facilitate 3-4 activities around Narrabeen Lagoon and the Coastal Environment Centre. These hands-on activities will enable the students to explore how water moves around our environment, how it is used as a habitat and how we can look after it.
Explore North Narrabeen Rock Platform
Following a safety talk from our knowledgeable educators, the students explore the amazing rock platform and all its diversity, while guided by our educators, as an example of a very special aquatic habitat.
