The Northern Beaches Seniors Festival celebrates and recognises seniors for the role they play and the contributions they make to our local community.

The official Festival theme for 2025 is ‘Time to Shine!'.

The Northern Beaches Festival will run from Monday 3 March to Sunday 30 March 2025, corresponding with NSW Seniors Festival which runs from 3 to 16 March.

Seniors Festival Program - Expressions of Interest

We’re calling for community groups, organisations and businesses to be part of our annual Seniors Festival events and activities program for the over 60s.

The format will be similar to the 2024 Program, with a printed ‘highlights’ program and many more programmed activities published on Council’s What’s On calendar and the Seniors Festival page.

Events and activities should be based around the following themes:

• Health and wellbeing - including physical and emotional wellbeing, food and nutrition, dementia prevention.
• Technology, intellectual stimulation and art appreciation
• The value of social connections including intergenerational and multicultural relationships
• Care for the environment
• End of life planning - topics such as enduring power of attorney and guardianship, advanced care planning, funeral options available.
• Accessing aged care and accommodation options.

Submission of your activity does not mean automatic inclusion in the printed Festival program. Events and activities will only be considered for the printed program if they:

• have been specifically created for the festival
• are free or low cost.

Regular activities and programs submitted to the EOI will be considered for inclusion on the website ‘What’s On’ calendar if they meet the submission guidelines.

The Festival program will be widely publicised via the printed program and Council’s eNews and social media channels.

Seniors Connect Expo - Call for stallholders

As part of the Festival Program, Council will be coordinating a Seniors Connect expo to showcase local seniors groups on:

Friday 14 March, 10.30am to 1.30pm – The Showroom, Dee Why RSL Club
