Australia’s longest running jazz festival will return to Manly in 2025, with world-class performers for an unforgettable weekend for jazz enthusiasts and music lovers alike. Council’s hugely popular festival will feature a dynamic and diverse program celebrating the rich traditions and evolving future of jazz music with performances set to take place across four stages and in-venues in and around Manly. From traditional New Orleans jazz to soul, blues, roots, swing and funk, the lineup will captivate audiences of all ages.
Manly Jazz 2024 Lineup
From smooth saxophones and sultry vocals to the roar of big bands on stage, the diversity of talent guarantees an unforgettable experience for every music aficionado. Be sure to also keep your ears open for roving bands that will serenade you as you wander the streets and laneways of Manly.
Official Venues
Dive deeper into the local experience as you explore the more than 15 Manly Jazz Official Venues. Each venue will have its own unique theme and atmosphere, and are the perfect location to savour delicious food, sip on refreshing drinks, and fully immerse yourself in everything Manly has to offer. There'll be plenty of live music in a range of unique locations across Manly including 55 North, Hotel Steyne, The Boathouse at Shelly Beach, The Manly Club, Manly Art Gallery & Museum, and even the Manly Library!
Bucketty's Jazz Garden
Bucketty’s will bring their range of award-winning brews and a unique vibe to The Corso. It will be the perfect place to relax, listen to great music, play games and enjoy an amazing range of food and drinks. The fun kicks off on Friday with a special performance from James Valentine's Upbeat!
Hot Potato Band Parade Workshop
Manly Town Hall | Sunday
Hot Potato Band are recruiting musicians between the ages of 9 and 18 to join them in performing at Manly Jazz. Participants will partake in a collaborative band workshop to learn and prepare a classic street tune to later perform in a street parade that will momentarily transform Manly Corso into the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Getting there
Road closure
A road closure will be in place from 4pm, Friday 20 September through to midnight Sunday 22 September along North and South Steyne, from Wentworth Street to Raglan Street, Manly.
Surrounding roads may also be affected with increased traffic during this time.
General event FAQs
Can I bring my dog to the event?
Dogs/pets are permitted at the event but need to be on a lead across the event site.
However, dogs/pets are NOT permitted in the Bucketty's Jazz Garden. Assistance animals are permitted, please contact the Events Team.
What should I wear / bring?
Here are our recommendations to have the perfect day:
- It can be very sunny and windy so we suggest to pack a hat, sun glasses a light jacket
- If rain is forecasted, we encourage you to bring something to keep you dry.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
You are most welcome to BYO food and non-alcoholic drinks, or enjoy something from the Bucketty's Jazz Garden or from the great selection of local restaurants around Manly. We have also partnered with several Manly Jazz Official Venues so you can enjoy more live music throughout the weekend.
Please note, this is a glass free event.
Will there be water on site?
There will be water stations for you to refill and refresh. Please bring your own water bottle.
Can I bring my pram to the event?
Yes, you can bring your pram. The event takes place in the Manly CBD which is fully accessible.
What if it rains?
As this is an outdoor event, we are subject to weather and encourage you to bring wet weather gear (raincoat, poncho, umbrella) in case of light rain.
Behavioural standards
Northern Beaches Council will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour of a threatening, aggressive, or abusive nature towards our audience members, guests, volunteers, staff or partner venue staff. Northern Beaches Council reserves the right to deny admission to the event.
Pricing
Manly Jazz is non-ticketed and free of charge to attend. All you need to do is bring your enthusiasm, your love for music, and your dancing shoes – we'll take care of the rest!
