Young Creators, Start Rolling!
The Beaches Young Filmmakers Comp returns in 2025! If you’re aged 12–24 and love storytelling, filmmaking, acting, or just playing around with creative ideas, this is your chance to show your skills and have fun with your team. With a $3000 prize pool and awesome industry-supported prizes up for grabs, the comp gives you the chance to create something amazing and see it on the big screen at Hoyts Warringah Mall.
Here’s how it works:
Teams or solo creators have 4 days to create a short film (up to 7 minutes). You’ll need to include some secret rules – a mystery item, phrase, and keyword – which will be revealed Wed 27 Aug, kicking off the competition and giving you time to prepare before the competition weekend begins. Films are judged by a panel with the best films scoring a spot at the Finals + Awards Night at HOYTS Warringah Mall, where your film will be seen on the cinema screen.
Whether you're a director, scriptwriting genius, natural-born actor, or just keen to try something new, this is your moment. It’s all about your story, your voice, your creativity. First time filming or already a filmmaking pro — everyone’s welcome.
