Weaving Stories Workshops 2025
The 2025 Weaving Stories workshops offer a unique opportunity to engage with Aboriginal knowledge holders and a traditional master weaver while exploring your own creativity. During the workshops you will hear cultural stories shared by Aboriginal knowledge holders while learning weaving techniques.
Whether you are a seasoned artist or novice, these workshops provide a welcoming space to learn, create, and celebrate First Nations culture and heritage. This year’s program will be facilitated by Senior Knowledge Holder, Caroline Glass-Pattison, Master Weaver Karleen Green and Weaver Jodie Dowd.
The Weaving Stories theme for 2025 is Buuja Buuja meaning butterfly in the Wiradjuri language. Participant weaves will contribute to a public event and exhibition at Curl Curl Creative Space in July 2025 celebrating the completion of the Weaving Stories program. Weaving Stories is part of the 2025 Gaimariagal Festival.
