Council Lifeguards

Professional Council lifeguards and volunteers patrol our surf beaches to help keep you safe. We patrol Manly all year round, Dee Why and Freshwater from September till the end of May. Most other surf beaches are patrolled from the end of September until the end of April, every day from 9am - 5pm and sometimes longer in the summer peak.

If you need to contact the Beach Safety team for general enquiries please call Customer Service on 1300 434 434

In case of an emergency call 000.

Please remember to swim between the flags and as much as we love our pets there are no dogs allowed on our beaches or rockpools.

Beach Wheelchairs

Beach Wheelchairs or “freewheelers” are available to book at Manly, Collaroy, Newport and Bilgola beaches. These wheelchairs have soft balloon tyres that can roll easily over sand and even into low waves on the waters edge so a person with disability aged 5 years and above can enjoy a great day out on the beach with family and friends.
