Elgata Reserve is a small pocket of remnant bushland located in Avalon near Careel Bay. The reserve supports Pittwater/Wagstaff Spotted Gum forest and the dominant canopy species are Spotted Gum (Eucalyptus maculata).  

Elgata Reserve provides important habitat for local native fauna and contains essential habitat to Powerful Owls.
