Get physical in a hands-on sorting, shredding and processing activity to give hard plastic waste a new life. Learn how to make pens, key rings, combs and more. Plus take part in ‘Pitchfest’ – will your solution to plastic rubbish in the environment be the winner?
The program is led by environment educators from Reshaping Waste, a local Northern Beaches business whose facilitators are passionate about diverting waste from landfill and inspiring future environmental change makers.
Children are invited to participate in the full 3-day program or register for a single days’ session. Suitable for kids aged 7 - 12.
Program
Day 3
- Sort, shred and process hard plastics by type and colour
- Lunch break
- Learn how to make a range of items from pens, carabiner key rings, pockets combs and more.
- Pitchfest: learn about how to tackle plastic waste, work in groups to brainstorm a solution to fight impacts of plastic waste on the environment, pitch your ideas to a judge panel.

- All materials, resources and templates provided by the Reshaping Waste team
- Staffed by the Reshaping Waste team guiding students through the activities
- Safety equipment i.e., googles, gloves etc. provided by the Reshaping Waste Team

- Enclosed footwear suitable for outdoor activity

- BYO Lunch and snacks, lunch is not provided for students.
