Sunday, 29 September 2024 - 09:00 am to 01:00 pm

The community is warmly invited to help us celebrate Biodiversity Month by joining us for a morning planting native species at Nareen Wetlands, North Narrabeen on Sunday 29th September 2024.

Planting will help restore the unique and ecologically threatened vegetation communities present, and provide habitat for the amazing species of native fauna found within the reserve. This event is kindly sponsored by a grant from the Environmental Trust who are assisting Council rehabilitate our freshwater wetlands.

Freshwater wetlands are a critical part of our natural environment. They protect our shores from wave action, reduce the impacts of floods, absorb pollutants and improve water quality. They contain a wide diversity of plants and animals that are found nowhere else.

The community are welcome to drop by at any time between 9am-1pm to help. All plants and equipment will be provided.
