The Listening Station is a regular music gig along with a friendly conversation about creativity. "Hamish and friends" are professional musicians (and friends) who come together to play improvised music, sometimes jazz standards, sometimes soulful vocals always a wonderful intimate gig. We are a lively community that comes together around Spanish Vermouth and herbal sodas in a local art gallery. Art Bau is a venue that is literally made for "creating Art" The Listening Station connects music lovers, art lovers and creatives in a really special way.
Our Story
The Listening Station is a monthly gig at ArtBau a gallery/studio in Brookvale. It's a friendly mix of people drinking Vermouth and Herbal sodas in the art gallery, then we listen to Hamish and friends play jazz standards, in Frankie's art studio.
Hamish invites surprise guests from his long career playing drums. Each month be inspired by our conversation about creativity and new art exhibition in the gallery. Celebrate the informal atmosphere with incredible acoustics.
The Listening Station is an affectionate nod to Frankie's eight years living in Berlin. The abandoned cold war spy station turned home to anarchists perfectly encapsulated the unique energy and enthusiasm for the arts ArtBau wants to bring to the beaches.
Brought to you from an up-and-coming arts district, The Listening Station is a place to connect with other art and music lovers.
