As a stage 4 Ovarian Cancer patient and a local Dee Why mum of 2 girls, Vanja Wilson is hosting her first ever 'Mother's Day Classic' walk on Mother's Day (11 May) morning at 9am to raise vital funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).

This is a stunning family and dog-friendly 4.2km walk around Long Reef Headland (golf course), with accessible terrain.

Our 'village' (start and finish line) is located at Griffin Park, next to the play park, offering coffee, juices, food, entertainment, gift stalls and an excellent raffle!

Come down and support the cause or even better, register your team / family / friends today and us to help raise vital funds to find an early detection and better treatment for women like me (and many others). With Ovarian Cancer being the most lethal female cancer, we hope to make a much needed change.

Since 1998, the Mother’s Day Classic has been dedicated to walking, running and fundraising to save women’s lives on Mother’s Day. In the last 27 years, our national community has donated $46.1 million to the Nation Breast Cancer Foundation, and since 2024, the organisation opened up to include Ovarian Cancer and we have raised $1.2 million to the OCRF.
