Our heritage is important to all of us. That’s why we’ve established the Local Heritage Fund. This fund provides small grants to support you if you own property with heritage significance on the Northern Beaches, and you’re doing works to conserve its heritage value.
What types of properties and projects are eligible
To be eligible, a property must be listed in Schedule 5 of the Manly, Warringah or Pittwater Local Environmental Plans. This is a requirement of the funding provided by the State Government.
Eligible projects include things like repairing structural components such as underpinning walls and repointing brickwork, repainting external walls, repairing or reinstating walls, windows, verandas, external balustrades, roof cladding, roof plumbing and decorative elements, and repairing historic fences, walls, drainage and bridge structures.
How funding is allocated
We review and allocate budget each financial year, using funding support from the Heritage NSW. The fund generally provides grants of between $200 and $3,000 per property, but no more than 50% of the cost of the project.
How we assess the grants
Our internal panel, consisting of a Strategic Planner, Heritage Planner and Grants Officer, will review all applications. This team will make the call on which projects will be offered a grant, and how much that grant will be, on a case by case basis.

Applications
Thank you for your interest in the Local Heritage Fund. However the fund is currently closed and this grant will not be run in the 2024-25 year.
