The Eco-Schools Grants program encourages schools within our local government area to become more environmentally friendly by adopting initiatives to measurably reduce the schools carbon footprint and become a leader in sustainability and climate action.

Northern Beaches Council has established the program to support local schools on their sustainability journey.

2025/26 Recipients

Barrenjoey High School

has received $2,000 to transform its Inclusive Learning Unit into a thriving accessible eco garden. This project aims to raise awareness about sustainability issues while improving students' connection with nature and supporting their wellbeing.
With plans for bush regeneration, habitat creation, wicking bed gardens, a worm farm, and professional development for staff, the initiative promises to be a helpful step toward ecological stewardship and education.

Kinma Primary School

has been granted $1,950 to develop a dynamic community garden that will act as a hub for teaching sustainability and healthy food practices. Students will gain hands-on experience in growing food, understanding food security, exploring life cycles, and learning about the vital role of living creatures in the ecosystem. This vibrant garden will also foster meaningful connections with the community and local organisations.

Kambora Public School

has been awarded $2,000 to bring an Eco-Sensory Garden to life. The Garden will serve as an immersive classroom for studying plant biology, sustainability, and the critical role of pollinators, offering students a unique view on environmental education.
