Manly Warringah War Memorial State Park - known as Manly Dam, is great for picnics by the water, bushland exploring and is popular for mountain biking and water skiing.
The main park entrance gate opens at 7:00AM daily and closes at either 5:30PM (EST) or 8:30PM (DST).
Manly Dam has a wonderful diversity of flora and fauna, including a number of threatened species. A recent biodiversity project funded by the Australian Government’s Communities Environment Program, Northern Beaches Council and the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF), saw local community group Save Manly Dam Catchment Committee undertake an extensive survey of Manly Dam’s flora and fauna. To see the amazing biodiversity that Manly Dam is home to, check out manlydambiodiversityproject.org. Members of the community can be a part of ongoing biodiversity monitoring at Manly Dam by recording sightings at inaturalist.ala.org.au/projects/manly-dam-biodiversity-project
