The following terms & conditions must be adhered to so that staff can provide a high standard of care for your child whilst you enjoy the centre’s facilities.

General

  • Northern Beaches Council (‘Council’) is a child safe organisation committed to ensuring that children and young people with whom we have contact are safe and feel safe.
  • The Crèche follows Child Safe Standards and Council policies.
  • Opening Hours and fees for the Crèche are detailed on Council’s website.

Eligibility

  • The Crèche is available for children aged 8 weeks to 5 years.
  • Children who are attending school cannot use the Crèche during school holidays.
  • Children will not be accepted at the Crèche if they show any signs of illness.
  • The Crèche is available for a parent/guardian using Manly Andrew Boy Charlton Aquatic Centre’s (‘MABC’) services and facilities.

Conditions of use

  • The maximum time a child/children can be booked into the Crèche is 1.5 hours.
  • On every visit, each child must be signed in upon arrival and out on collection by the parent/guardian nominated on the attendance form.
  • This form must be filled out thoroughly and legibly as it is used to locate you if your child is unsettled or as a roll in an emergency.
  • Children can only be picked up by the parent or guardian who signed them in. If arrangements have been made with someone other than the parent or guardian to collect your child, staff must be informed upon signing in your child. You are also required to complete a release of child form that includes the details of the person collecting your child. During a Crèche booking, the parent/guardian must remain within the grounds of MABC.
  • A parent/guardian should ensure their child has used the toilet before coming to the Crèche and is wearing a nappy if needed. While a nappy changing area and toilet are available, staff do not change nappies.
  • Staff will give age-appropriate help when children need to use the toilet. This may include helping with buttons or clothing, but staff will not help with wiping or cleaning.
  • Staff may contact the nominated parent/guardian at any time during the booking and request that the child be collected from the Crèche if the child becomes distressed and cannot be settled by staff, becomes unwell or needs a nappy change.
  • Due to increased childhood allergies, our Crèche does not permit food, flavoured liquids, and bottles of formula /milk.
  • All water bottles must be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
  • A parent/guardian is always, responsible for their child whilst they attend the Crèche and authorises the staff to seek necessary emergency medical treatment, or ambulance service in the event of illness or accident occurring to their child.

NOTE: ambulance / medical expenses will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian of the injured child.

  • A parent/guardian is not to bring toys from home to the facility. Toys, games, and activities will be provided.
  • If a circumstance occurs when the staff need to evacuate the facility, the children will be evacuated by MABC staff. A parent/guardian will be reunited with them at the assembly point. You must not remove your child from the Crèche area without notifying staff and signing out.
  • Due to the limited number of positions available, children must be dropped off and collected on time.
  • When leaving a pram in the Crèche, please complete the provided tag with your child’s name and attach it to the pram.
  • Council will not be liable for any loss, injury (including death) or damage to property or persons sustained in or upon the Council’s premises.
  • Parents/guardians will indemnify and keep the Council indemnified for and against all damages, action, suits, claims, costs and demands, which may be made or recovered against the Council by any person whatsoever in respect of any loss, injury (including death) or damage to property or persons sustained in or upon the Council’s premises except to the extent that such loss, injury or damage is caused by the negligence of Council, its servants and agents.
