Acclaimed landscape and still life painter Lucy Culliton leads our next Masterclass at Manly Art Gallery & Museum. 

This one-day workshop will focus on still life painting, with participants invited to bring an object they would like to paint. 

The session will begin with an introduction to Lucy’s art practice and a demonstration of key painting techniques. Participants will then put techniques into practice and receive guidance throughout the day. 

This session will be limited to 15 participants and is suitable for all levels, including beginners. 

Please bring your own materials - suggested materials:

  • Oil paints – preferably artist quality
  • Painting utensils
  • Choice of surface e.g. canvas, board
  • Bring an object that you would like to paint

This Masterclass is inclusive of a light lunch and tea/coffee.  Please advise dietary requirements.

About  

Lucy Culliton is one of Australia’s leading contemporary landscape and still life painters. In 2000, Lucy won the Mosman Art Prize and in 2004, the Kedumba Drawing Award. In 2016 Lucy was a finalist in the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes and in 2024 Lucy won the Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award. Lucy’s work can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Australian Parliament House, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Macquarie Bank, New England Regional Art Gallery and Tamworth Regional Gallery.
