The ORRCA (Organisation for the Rescue and Research of Cetaceans) conducts an annual humpback whale census along the NSW coast. This census helps track the migration of whales, with participants along headlands counting whales as they migrate north. The census data is used to assess the health and size of the humpback whale population.
Join us on Long Reef Headland for expert advice and a chance to assist with the whale census.
Coastal Environment Centre staff on the headland from 10am to 1:00pm.
No bookings required, a drop in event on Sunday 29 June 2025.
