
Showcase your local community group at Big Ideas Forum 2025
We are looking for community groups who run initiatives that strengthen community connections in the Northern Beaches to be involved.
- When: Wednesday 5 Nov 2025, 6-8.30pm
- Where: Glen St Theatre, Belrose
The evening will include social psychologist and bestselling author Hugh Mackay sharing highly personal reflections on some of the world’s greatest thinkers and writers in his latest book 'Just Saying', exploring themes including the problem of social isolation, the challenges of difference and the role of kindness in building cohesive communities.
How your community group can get involved
There are two ways community groups can get involved.
Fill in the form below to express interest in the Community Showcase Opportunity or Community Connect Opportunity by Friday 17 October 2025, 5pm.

Option 1: Community showcase
Opportunity for up to 6 groups to engage with the community to raise awareness about your initiative, invite feedback and explain how people can get involved.
On the night you will be able to:
- Engage with community members in the foyer before and after the formal presentation: 6:00 – 6:30pm AND 8:00 – 8:30pm.
- Have your group promoted on screen in the auditorium before and after the presentation.
- Have your group/activity promoted on our event community noticeboard.
Groups will be provided with a designated space and a display board (approx. A0 sized)
You will need to provide an information / display about your group, an interactive method of capturing feedback from the community (e.g. post-it notes) and a printed flyer advertising your group (no bigger than A5) to stick on the community noticeboard.
Option 2: Community Connect
Opportunity to promote your group/activity and raise awareness of how people can get involved.
On the night you will be able to:
- Have your group promoted on screen in the auditorium before and after the presentation.
- Have your group/activity promoted on our event community noticeboard.
- Mingle and chat with community members in the foyer before and after the formal presentation: 6.00 – 6.30pm AND 8:00 – 8:30pm.
You will be provided with a name badge to encourage people to speak to you about their initiative.
