Under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act), Council is required to maintain a register of contracts that have (or are likely to have) a value of $150,000 or more (including GST).
Confidential information is not required to be included in the register. This includes commercial-in-confidence provisions; details of any unsuccessful tender; any matter that could reasonably affect public safety or security; or where there is an overriding public interest against disclosure of the record.
Contracts of employment are not included in this register.
Council is only required to make contract information available as open access information for the public access period which is the longer of:
- 20 working days;
- the period until the project to which the contract relates is completed
