As a community, we bin 9.7 kgs of material per household into our bins every week, of which nearly a third is recycling. That’s great! It means each one of us is contributing to a valuable reusable resource that will be transformed into something new.

But a lot of items that can be recycled are ending up in our red bins. And some items that end up in our yellow and blue recycling bins, cannot be recycled.

Bin it right is about helping you with information to refresh your bin habits. Scroll down to view tips for each of your household bins.

With your help, we’re aiming for a 70% resource recovery rate from our household waste by 2030 of which recycling plays a key part.
